The paddles are coming down off the shelf, the courts are getting swept, and somewhere out there at least one of you is claiming to have practiced all summer. We remain skeptical.
Dolan and Napolitano return as defending champions after last spring’s 9-to-1 Cinderella run — three matches, two deciding tiebreakers, and a rainbow over the courts to finish it off. Which means everyone else now has a very specific target to aim at.
The warm-up Mondays are behind us. The season starts for real on Monday 12 October at 7pm — from that night on, every result counts towards the standings. Sixteen of us this year, with Rockman back after a season lost to injury.
New season, clean slate, everyone back to zero.
